According to Forbes Report for the year 2018, Pallewatte Gamaralalage Maithripala Yapa Sirisena the 7th and current President of Sri Lanka – since 2015 to date – is the third richest politician in the country with US Dollar 14 million. Of course, Percy Mahendra ‘Mahinda’ Rajapaksa, the sixth President of Sri Lanka from 19 November 2005 – 9 January 2015, is the top most Sri Lankan richest politician with US Dollar 18 Billion.

The other living Sri Lankan President Chandrika Kumaratunga, who served as the fifth President of Sri Lanka, from 12 November 1994 to 19 November 2005, is the 6th richest Sri Lankan politician with US Dollar 1.4 million.

Ranil Wickremesinghe, MP, serves as the Prime Minister of Sri Lanka since 9 January 2015, also Leader of the United National Party since 1994 and the Member of Parliament for Colombo District since from 1977 is the 9th richest Sri Lankan politician with US Dollar 830, 000.

In the meantime, Vinayagamoorthy Muralitharan alias Karuna Amman, formerly the commander of LTTE’s Eastern Province – Col. Karuna, and later nominated MP and Deputy Minister is the 5th richest Sri Lankan politician with US Dollar 1.7 million.

Dissanayaka Mudiyanselage Anura Kumara Dissanayaka MP, current Leader of the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna(JVP) and presently the Chief Opposition Whip, ranked 7th with US Dollar 1.3 million.
