Schooling the Deaf & Blind in Sri Lanka: A Story of Many Marvels

Sanchita Wickremasooriya, in  Sunday Times,  30 April 2023, where the title is “The Seeing Hands, The Listening Eyes! An account of The School for the Deaf and Blind, Ratmalana”... with highlighting being the imposition by The Editor, Thuppahi

Have you ever taken the time to think of how dependent you are on sensory information? You don’t need to look too far. Think of the time you woke up in the middle of the night and thumped your foot against the bedroom table as you tried to make your way to the washroom. Or that time you played ‘pin the tail on the elephant’ or ‘Kana Mutti’ during Avurudhu. Or that time you couldn’t taste your lunch during  -bad flu season. Or even that time your ears got blocked because you drove too deep too fast after swimming practice!

Bernard’s Odyssey in Sri Lanka: Further Marvels

Bernard Van Cuylenberg, whose chosen title is  “An Odyssey: The Search for Heritage, Part Two”

Nilaweli Beach in 2020 –Pix by one Mike Roberts

PROLOGUE: Saying “Goodbye” is never easy. The “Goodbyes” I bid to the Staff at Nilaveli Beach Hotel after a relaxed idyllic holiday following the first leg of my tour was hard. This was where I cut my teeth on life’s road and the ties that bind me to this Hotel were, and remain, very strong. But there was a long road ahead, a road I never travelled before. Travice Ondaatjie, whose late Dad Mr. George Ondaatjie was my Boss when I worked for Nilaveli Beach Hotels Limited drove up to Nilaveli on Friday the 24th and told me that on Sunday the 26th March we would leave for Passekudah, Arugam Bay and travel down the Eastern seaboard right down to the Lahuggala National Park in Amparai to visit the archaeological sites there, and then head for Wellawaya and finally to Colombo.

An Incisive Analysis of the US-NATO Involvement in the Ukraine

Scott Horton and Judge Napolitani in Revealing U-Tube Dialogue, May 2023

SEE https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dPYp_TwlK24

**********

NOTE Some of the Initial Comments attracted on Web

Scott Horton has an amazing podcast… one of the best anti-war voices of our age.
Thanks Judge, I can’t believe how naive I was even ten years ago. I had to stop work with ill health and it was then I had the time to educate myself in the mendacity of the Western powers i.e. USA, UK, EU and NATO. Once your eyes have been opened you can never go back!
It’s a pleasure to see this gentleman back in your show
Extraordinary dialog by Judge Napolitano with critical questions on the origin of the Ukraine problem and Scott Horton valuable knowledge of the facts of U.S. intervention since the 1990’s. This conversation should be divulged as much as possible an answer to all who claim Russia was “unprovoked”. Scott coming book will be very important to read.

Matheesha Pathirana: Another Wicket-Shattering Slinger

Michael Roberts

The 18-year-old, slinging fast bowler Matheesha Pathirana has burst upon the T20 format in wicket-clattering manner. Not for Sri Lanka – but for the Chennai Super Kings under veteran Dhoni’s captaincy and Stephen Fleming’s oversight; …. and watching him from some other ground as one of the backroom coaching staff for another IPL team was …. guess whom? None other than the original slinger Lasith Malinga.

Aussie Reporters Shooting at the Moon

A Canary Club Reader  .… with highlighting emphasis inserted by The Editor, Thuppahi

Does Peter Hartcher understand anything? …..

Here, he begins by stating:  “In the time it takes to read this article, two more Russian soldiers will be killed”, without providing a shred of evidence to substantiate his claim. Based on leaked US military documents in April this year, the reality is that in the time it takes to read this article, 14 Ukrainian soldiers would have been killed. You’d have to read the article many times before a Russian is killed.

BBC rendered impotent by Azerbaijan President

An Observer from the Black Sea

This interview is why the BBC stands for British Bullshit Corporation. The journalist from that ‘august’ agency claims the higher moral ground – just read it in her facial gestures; but she can’t provide a single source and is then speechless when the President of Azerbaijan asks her a question.

The BBC do the same on China,  HK, Iran, Russia and any country that chooses their own destiny independent of Anglo-Saxon control.
