The 2025 list celebrates the world’s most breathtaking island destinations, with Sri Lanka placing ahead of well-known island paradises such as Mo’orea in French Polynesia, the Galápagos Islands in Ecuador, and the Seychelles.

According to Big 7 Travel, Sri Lanka was chosen for its rich blend of cultural heritage, diverse landscapes, and pristine beaches. The list also praised the island nation for its unique wildlife, ancient temples, lush tea plantations, and vibrant local experiences.

    I would from my travel experience as an officer in the British merchant navy add Seychelles, Mauritius, Madagascar and reunion to this list.
