When you see the level of stupidity, arrogance and incompetence, as part of a massive disinformation campaign coming from the British mainstream media today (as illustrated in this interview by Piers Morgan) we can have absolutely no confidence whatsoever in anything the Western mainstream media says. In this interview, Professor Marandi’s explanations were correct. His analysis of Iran’s response to Israel’s destruction of the Iranian Embassy was correct. Iran responded by mounting three interrelated operations.

The first was a Psychological Warfare operation. Here, Iran delayed their retaliatory strike by two weeks in order to sow fear among the Israeli population and to undermine confidence in the Israeli Government.
The second was a Military operation. The firing of drones, cruise, and ballistic missiles had specific objectives. The drones were used only as decoys which were meant to expose US and Israel defences and to be shot down by US, Israeli, French and Jordanian defence systems. Iran then broke through all of these defences with ballistic missiles which struck two Israeli military targets. The first was a military base in the Negev desert, and the other was Unit 8200 — Israel’s signals intelligence collection agency – both of which were used in the attack on the Iranian Consulate in Damarcus on 1 April. Unit 8200 had been used to intercept communications in the Iranian Consulate, while jets flew off from the base in Negev that conducted the attack on the Iranian diplomatic mission in Damascus. It is important to note that no Israelis were killed in the attack, which only focused on legitimate military targets.
The third was an Intelligence operation. By mounting such a sophisticated military operation of drones and missiles, Iran was able to gather a vast amount of intelligence on US, Israeli, UK, and Jordanian defence systems which can then be put to effective use in future operations. Those three interrelated operations were highly successful and the Western attempt to describe it as a failure is delusional.
The Embassy was not a ‘military site’ as Morgan claimed – that’s disinformation (just like the false claim ISIS-K was behind the Crocus terrorist attack). Marandi’s analysis wasn’t ‘the most entertaining interpretation of failure’ as Piers Morgan claimed but revealed a highly successful operation conducted by Iran. The West’s attempt to characterise it as ‘a failure’ is delusional.
Morgan kept talking about ‘evidence of Hamas committing mass systematic rapes, beheadings, baking babies in ovens,’ and that Hamas boasted about it all, posting video footage of it online, but when Marandi asked Morgan to show the evidence, Morgan was silent and was unable to do so because there is no evidence. It is just a massive Western disinformation campaign coming from the Brits.
Morgan attacked Marandi three times accusing him of ‘smirking’, but it is clear from the video that Marandi was smirking at Morgan’s dishonesty, which Morgan failed to read correctly. Instead, he tried to smear the smirk with more disinformation.
When Marandi presented the extraordinary crimes committed by Israel on hospitals in Gaza, Morgan could not respond and did not respond, but tried to escape it by diverting away to a different topic. Morgan used this technique several times in the interview to avoid any criticism of Israeli war crimes in Gaza.
Morgan’s insistence on only focusing on what happened on 7 October to the exclusion of everything that has occurred in Palestine since 1948 is a disgraceful depiction of racism, a denial of history, an affirmation of White Supremacy, and a failure to recognise the legitimate Palestinian resistance against an occupying power, namely Israel, that is racist, genocidal and demeaning to Palestinians and Arabs.
A few days ago, the Speaker of the US House of Representatives Mike Johnson described Iran, China and Russia as the new ‘Axis of Evil’, a propaganda slogan that was debunked the last time it was invoked by George Bush in response to 11/9. Back then, in his 2001 State of the Union Address, Bush defined North Korea, Iran and Iraq as the ‘Axis of Evil’, yet none of those countries were involved in the 11/9 attacks. (Saudi Arabia was involved but the UK left them alone.) The US and UK governments then lied to the world, and before the United Nations falsely claimed Iraq had WMDs. On that basis, the US illegally invaded Iraq, toppled its government, killed over a million civilians, and left the country in ruins and poverty from which it has still not recovered after 23 years.
And now the US Government wants to do it all over again with this stupid phrase ‘Axis of Evil’. If this phrase has any meaning, it rightfully belongs to the US, UK and Israel.
Iran, China and Russia are doing the right thing by advocating for Palestine to have Member status at the UN, which is supported by 140 countries in the Global South.
Gilad Erdan, Israel’s Ambassador to the UN, described the UNSC Draft Resolution calling for Palestine to be given Membership status at the UN as ‘a violation of international law’. Which law is he referring to? It must be the same law which was illegally used to give Israel statehood in 1948.
If it decides to do so, Iran can begin manufacturing nuclear weapons in a week and there is nothing the US and Israel can do about it.

Why did Piers Morgan change his name?…. In the matter of his real surname, it appears that his father’s name was O’Meara, but he died before his son was a year old. The mother then married a Mr. Pughe-Morgan and Piers Morgan took the latter’s double-barreled surname, later shortening it for professional purposes.

I find it hugely ironic that from the Balfour Declaration of 1917 (?) onwards the Westerm world’s deployment of its colonial possessions to creat a state for the oppressed Jewish peoples of Europe has — over the years–generated a Nazi-like state in the heart of Palestine and the Middle East.

One does not have to refer to UK media celebrities such as Morgan, for even the UK Foreign Minister, David Cameron made a public statement very recently on the status of the Israel-Hamas war, starting the narrative on the war with the events on 7 October 2024, with absolutely no reference to the previous history of the Palestinians from 1948 onwards with the continuous violations of United Nations resolutions by the Israeli Government and the forced confinement of Palestinians in two geographical zones. To date, the UK and USA official line has avoided stating explicitly that the Israeli Government has committed any war crimes or crimes against humanity or a genocide in this war. The same is true for the EU, apart from Eire. What a contrast with the castigation of Russia in the Russia-Ukraine war!
In 1967 I was reading second hand Readers Digest and Time magazines. I was openly cheering the Israeli military success. I was very partial towards the Jewish people who had suffered systematic elimination by Hitler’s government. I foolishly believed in the US.
Over the years I am baffled that the Jewish people who suffered such injustices cannot instal a decent government in Israel. Yet my anger is towards US. Their government is captured by their own war and spy machinery. The presidents and congress of either persuasions are not in control. They like most of their population cannot realise that we are moving towards a dangerous war with Russia & China.
The only redeeming side of this despondent outlook is that the humans will either be completely wiped out or will become a small isolated groups of hunter gatherers allowing the earth to heal itself and the rest of the species it hosts to flourish.
