 The National Endowment for Democracy exposed as a CIA Branch

 The National Endowment for Democracy has been exposed today in a cache of silly letters and emails released today.  If you want to better understand what a nefarious illegal corrupt outfit the NED is and the weird people working for them, and the extent they will go to conceal the fact that it is a CIA cutout, then it is worth spending a little time reading the emails and letters released today.

* the Dalai Lama is a long time CIA asset. He’s on the CIA payroll.

The U.S. military industrial complex is profit oriented; they manufacture what sells. Russia’s MIC is not; they manufacture what the military says it needs in accord with Russian military doctrine. What they manufacture must work.

China as Mediator in Russia-Ukraine Conflict

Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba has told China’s Foreign Minister that “Ukraine is ready and willing to engage in dialogue and negotiations with Russia” that leads to a permanent settlement. 

Kukeba is in China to secure their help in future negotiations with Russia. Kuleba said the negotiations should be rational and lead to a permanent end to the war.

The ‘Sinhala Only Bill’ by SWRD was ridiculous. SWRD could hardly speak Sinhala when he returned to Sri Lanka from Oxford. That [the Sinhaal Only campaign] was obviously a political move by SWRD.

Facing the West: Three Strands of Russian Thinking Today

Broadly speaking, today, there are three types of Russians as follows, 

1) Pro-Western Russians. This group love the West, want Russia to be fully integrated in the West, and believe that can only happen if Putin is killed or removed. They use words like “fascist”, “tyrant”, “bloodthirsty”, “war criminal”, and “genocidal maniac” to describe Putin. All of this is dangerous hyperbole because they don’t appreciate that if Putin were removed, a hardcore nationalist would likely replace him — which will be far worse than Mr. Putin. It is entertaining too. There is a vast gap between the intellectual rigour applied in this discussion, compared to NATO’s communique which is a distortion of reality and historical truth, and is sheer propaganda.

 Because my sister Estelle’s birthday fell in early May, I visited Sri Lanka from late April 2009 to circa July 2009 when the Sri Lankan armed forces were on the verge of overcoming the LTTE and its Eelam struggle. It so happened that the journalist representing the important Tamilnadu publishers of The Hindu and Frontline was none other than Muralidhar Reddy (in residence near Thurstan Rd). I had met Reddy once at Sanjay Srivastava’s home in Delhi (1995?) and he sought me out with requests for articles to be placed in Frontline.

This initiated a fruitful set of exchanges. It also brought me friendship with another Indian journalist, Kanchan Prasad — whose photographic skills have provided me with some invaluable war ‘tales’ in camera-mode: so that all the four photos of Murali-in-the war-zone are shots snapped by this intrepid lady …. a Lyse Doucet in Asian mould.

Mission:  What we hope to achieve

Itihas aims to equip Sri Lankan youth with the ability to think critically about their past, present, and future. It specifically aims to debunk mythological understandings of history that afford to particular ethno-religious groups a sense of superiority or authenticity over others. Rather than acting as a gatekeeper of knowledge, Itihas seeks to empower future generations of students, scholars, practitioners, and policymakers to learn about, research, and make informed decisions on divisive issues such as conflict, discrimination and violence in a manner that advances a more inclusive Sri Lanka.

A Momentous Russian Move: North Korea embraced ….
