A SPECIAL NOTE:
I happened to spend a good part of the period Mid-April to Early July 2009 in Colombo and Sri Lanka and was delighted to find Muralidhar Reddy as the correspondent for The Hindu newspaper in Colombo. It so happened that I had met him at Dr Sanjay Srivastavá’s home in Delhi at some point in the 1990s. Our friendship blossomed in 2009 and he also introduced me to Kanchan Prasad, another Indian news reporter. My writings on the LTTE and the final stages of Eelam War IV benefited greatly from these connections.
Murali, alas, is no longer with us. I will be presenting a requiem for him in due course. THAT PICTURE of him with Shavendra is one shot in his memory.
