Topic: Is WW 3 closer than you think?
What has a marine disaster got to do with the fallout of nuclear debris on Sri Lanka and Maldives. We have been unable to get compensation and develop a mitigatory force to protect our territorial sea and the coastline for over 4 years now in the tenure of two governments. Where is the UN and other nations who talk about climate change and marine pollution? What support have we got from them? The world order has changed and bucketloads of talking will not help if we do not get our act together. Sri Lanka needs to be self reliant.
The US and world powers do what they like based on their National Interests as clearly seen in this conflict in the Middle East. We as a country are divided politically, socially and economically. Just listen to what happens in parliament. The public is fed with a lot of rubbish in the media and social media where sensationalism and marketing strategies for higher sales override our national interests. These are more important than the TRUTH. The public must be trained on First Aid and Fire Fighting as a priority at least now to mitigate any fallout and for future local requirements. The country will have to be placed on a war footing if the Israel Iran war escalates because our imports will be severely restricted. Alternative sources of power will be required. The CEB must immediately go for Hydro, Solar and Wind generation whilst rationing our fuel for immediate and urgent transport needs. Food may have to be rationed and all essential services placed on high alert. Leave/holidays will have to be restricted.
As for the Israel Iran conflict the TRUTH is hidden from the public by the Western media. Just listen to this clip to get to know the TRUTH. There is minimal chances of a nuclear fallout on us or Maldives because the current missiles are accurate and of long range. The Iranians will use drone swarms to penetrate the US and Israeli air defence systems like what the Houthis did to the Saudi oil fields. In any case if Israel or Iran uses nuclear missiles it will be a 3 World War. The Iranian Foreign Minister is in Russia to meet with President Putin. China has evacuated most of its technicians from Iran and probably given vital aid to Iran to help them face the US onslaught. Iran is planning/threatening to block the strait of Hormuz in response.
Our involvement if any will be the use of our harbours and airports by either the US or Israel. Commercial airlines will be redirected through us which will increase air traffic through Katunayake and Mattala. Then we will have to have a plan to bring back our labour from Israel and the Middle East. As usual we will be at the mercy of big powers like what happened during our 33 year old long conflict. This is because we never plan for disasters or do not have alternative plans for any unforeseen eventuality. President Trump is egoistic and acts on impulse and emotions. All this will polarise the world and once again hurt the developing world including Sri Lanka. It is a great setback to world peace and will cause further hardship to the many people undergoing immense difficulties. The UN and the international community need to act with restraint if we are to prevent WW 3.

It is a sad saga going on in the Middle East and the ordinary citizens in both Israel and Iran are the victims. Netanyahu is a corrupt war criminal responsible for the killing of so many innocent Palestinians in Gaza. His only motive is to save himself from the internal corruption charges and is using the current fluid situation to save himself. I hope justice will ultimately prevail although very difficult due to the grip of the powerful Jewish lobby in Washington controlling the finances (AIPAC).
