The World Today: On the Brink of Armageddon

That Observer at World’s End

The St Petersburg Economic Forum is being held from 18-21 June 2025. On Friday, Vladimir Putin will deliver a speech which will be followed by Q &A. People from all over the world will be in the audience and can ask the President questions.  The forum is one of the world’s largest platforms for discussing global challenges and new models of cooperation in a rapidly changing world.  Today, Putin held a Q &A session with foreign journalists. Questions from West Europeans were, as expected, revealing- they displayed the Western mindset which seems fixed in 200 years of stone.

On the Israel-Iran War

Today, Iranian missile strikes precisely targeted multiple locations in Tel Aviv and central and southern Israel resulting in substantial damage, including damage to the IDF C41 HQ, Gav-Yam Negev Advanced Technologies Park. Shockwaves were felt at the Soroka military hospital, but not a direct hit.   There has also been extensive damage at Diamond Exchange District in Ramat Gan, and the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange building and surrounding buildings.

Buildings in central Israel have also been struck.  The Soroka Medical Centre in Beersheba was also struck by Iranian ballistic missiles.    While the IDF is censoring most of the destruction in Israel, they were nevertheless quick to release photos and film of the missile attacks aimed at sensitive military but damaged hospitals next to them. Ironically, Israel claimed Iran has violated international law by attacking hospitals, which displays Israel’s sick mentality given Israel has destroyed every hospital in Gaza, sometimes assassinating patients in their hospital beds.

Israel and the West claim most of the Iranian missiles are being shot down, but in just one 30 seconds moment of time, ten Iranian missiles successfully struck their targets in Tel Aviv like a machine gun. Not one Iranian missile was shot down by Israel.

While Israel and the Western media are salivating about regime change in Iran and the assassination of the ayatollah, Iran is gaining the upper hand, while Israel becomes weaker. The US is panicking and that is why Trump demanded Iran must surrender unconditionally and threatened to kill Iran’s leader, which is a violation of international law and has only strengthened Iran’s resolve to win this war. The real reason Trump is considering US intervention in the war is that it is a desperate attempt to save Israel from its own destruction.  Should the US intervene and begin attacking Iran, Iran will retaliate by destroying oil fields and other energy infrastructure across all of West Asia, attack and destroy US military bases and personnel, and close the Strait of Hormuz which will send oil prices skyrocketing to levels never seen before and a global economic collapse far worse than 1929.

Another mistake made by Western experts is to assume that less ballistic missiles being sent by Iran into Israel means Israel has successfully destroyed 200 Iranian missile launches. What these experts fail to realise is,

  1. Many of the launches Israel has struck are dummies. Most of Iran’s missile launches are intact.
  1. Iran is engaging in psychological warfare by lulling Israel into thinking they are winning by sending just a few missiles one day, but the next day a huge number – it is all designed to keep Israelis in a state of perpetual uncertainty.
