On 25 May 2024, President Biden gave a speech to new graduates at West Point to prepare them for war. It was a delusional speech in which Biden attempted to assert the right of the US to control the world under the guise of meaningless platitudes such as the US is the “indispensable nation”, “the world’s only superpower”,”and “the leading democracy in the world”. All the evidence of US security, defence and foreign policy over the past 32 years shows these claims are false. Biden fails to recognize the reality of a changing world – a world that has moved on since 1994. US hegemony is declining. We now live in a multipolar world when the emphasis is on international democratization. The US has inflicted terrible damage to the world, especially over the past three decades due to the Neocons.

Speaking to the graduates at West Point Biden declared,“America is the strongest when we lead not only by our example of our power but by the power of our example. You can clap for that. (Applause.)”
“Monkey say, Monkey do”. The graduates clapped.
What Biden doesn’t mention in his speech is that US leadership has utterly failed as demonstrated by its illegal invasion of Iraq in 2003, the outright lies used to justify this illegal war, the murdering of around one million Iraqi civilians, the destruction of Libya, the bombing of the Chinese Embassy in Belgrade, the support it gives to terrorist groups such as ISIS and Al-qaeda to use a proxies in America’s covert war against Iran, Syria, China and Russia, and America’s open approval and acceptance of the Gaza genocide, to name a few.
Biden can deny the Gaza genocide, but 80% of the world, mostly Global South countries know very well, as do the International Court of Justice, that “genocide” is the only word to describe Israel’s slaughtering, so far of 40,000 Palestinians and wounding 90,000. In the latest attack we were treated to Israel’s bombing of a tent city and the burning of 45 Palestinians – the charred remains of human flesh unrecognisable. It’s disgusting.
Biden also declared, “Thanks to the U.S. Armed Forces, we’re doing what only America can do as the indispensable nation, the world’s only superpower, and the leading democracy in the world.“
Is the US indispensable simply because its military can be deployed in illegal wars, carry out war crimes without accountability, cause enormous destruction to the lives of ordinary people all over the world? Biden’s statement is not just absurd; it is delusional. His claims are premised on the mistaken belief that America has a divine right to dominate and control the world through force, using its military power, on the false premise that the US is the world’s only superpower and leading democracy in the world.
The US is not the only superpower. Sleepy Joe is still living in the 1990s. Today, there are three superpowers in the world – the US, China and Russia. Soon there will be a 4th superpower- India. China and India are on the rise. The multipolar world is already here and will only strengthen in the coming years as more countries choose to reject America’s hegemony. The US cannot accept countries rising economically as we have seen in the way the US has aggressively tried to contain China’s rise through sanctions against China, military expansionism in the Asia-Pacific, demozing China as a threat when it is the US that threatens China, forcing TikTok to either sell its company to a US concern or leave, and the expulsion of Huawei, which is the most advanced global provider of ICT infrastructure and smart device. China’s WeChat enables users to make digital payments anywhere in the world without fees and bypassing US credit card services and SWIFT which have very high fees to enrich the bankers on Wall Street.
The US is leading the world to a world war and utter catastrophe. The world can do without America’s self-declared indispensability. Not only is the US a superfluous non-essential nation, due to the disasters it has imposed on the world, most countries today prefer to avoid the US like the plague.
Is the US a democracy? No, it is not a democracy. The US is a plutocracy in which American society is ruled “of the 1%, by the 1%, for the 1%” and to hell with the remaining 99%. It has abstract vestigial democratic forms, and so it cannot claim to be “the world’s leading democracy “. Furthermore, there is no genuine freedom in the US as was demonstrated by the ruthless and despicable violence used by US law enforcement to silence student protests and to shut down all opposition to Israel’s Gaza genocide.
The US government displays nothing but utter contempt for international law, and international institutions. In such circumstances, how can the US claim to be the world’s leading democracy, and the indispensable nation? It can’t.
Apart from Biden’s denial over the Gaza genocide, when it became known that ICJ Prosecutor Karin Khan would bring Netanyahu and Gallant before the ICJ on genocide charges, US senators responded by threatening to sanction the ICJ and use other tools at its disposal to punish judges and prosecutors effectively destroying the ICJ.
Biden declares, “Never forget: America is the strongest when we lead not only by our example of our power but by the power of our example. You can clap for that. (Applause.)”
Again we get more “Monkey say Monkey do”. When Biden says “clap”, the graduates at West Point clap like mindless robots.
American power has been extremely destructive of the planet with its insatiable appetite for wars, overthrowing governments, sanctioning countries that try to strengthen their sovereignty by democratically passing laws the US opposes.
The US Government steals money from other countries including $150 billion stolen from Iraq, $7 billion stolen from Afghanistan, hundreds of billions stolen from Russia, a $1trillion from Africa in 2022 alone. The US has also stolen 80% of Syria’s oil. The US even steals from their own people to fund the military establishment in its illegal wars. The US government is a Mafia organisation that lootes the wealth of countries around the world.
The US opposes the democratisation of the international system, demands hegemonic dominance over every country, spreads disinformation and propaganda against its opponents, and is incapable of winning a war. That the US spent 20 years in Afghanistan to replace the Taliban with the Taliban is evidence of failed leadership.
While Biden flippantly describes Putin as “a tyrant”, Trump has described Biden as a “crooked”, a “corrupt tyrant”, and “the worst president in the history of the United States.”
That Biden should pour out such a load of crap to young graduates at West Point indicates he is preparing them for another war based on lies. The assumption of Biden’s rhetoric is that because the US is the most indispensable nation, the only leader in the world, it therefore has the right to go to war against any country that threatens US notions of being indispensable. China’s rise does exactly that. The rise of BRICS and the SCO does exactly that. Trading in currencies other than US dollars does exactly that. Using alternative payment systems to SWIFT does exactly that. The BRI infrastructure across the world does exactly that.
Biden is the Joker.

‘ International Democratisation’ are mere words being used by the Ugly American in its untrammelled hegemonysm well bolstered by the Arms Industry spawned by it.
The tragedy is that the rest of the world remains thoroughly impotent whilst dwelling on pious platitudes. Many seemingly valid theories and possibilities are created only to be rubbished even before they see the light of day.
