An ODE for Those Who Fought COVID

Rukshan Perera’s ODE in Appreciation of the Frontline Workers who battled and Still Battle COVID

Thanking the Frontline Heroes in a song – When the world is at a standstill with Coronavirus Covid-19, let us pray for our heroes who are working day and night to save lives and bring the world back on track. This is a dedication to our heroes – healthcare workers, armed forces and all others on the frontline sacrificing their lives to save us from this unimaginable pandemic, Covid-19 Coronavirus.

LYRICS: Has the World Stopped Turning Our lives turned upside down, can’t go out, we are locked-down, Has the world stopped turning, Social distance empty streets, that’s our new reality, Has the world stopped turning, The Silverline is our heroes, they’ll heal the world again, They sacrifice their lives, and work through day and night, And make the world go round and round again, They give us hope and faith, and help smile through pain, And make the world go round and round again, They are unsung heroes of the day, Their love will make the world go round again, The count increases day by day, angels come and take them away, Has the world stopped turning, Nobody knows who’s next in line, Soon to the world the sun will shine, Has the world stopped turning, We pray for Healthcare workers and armed forces, everyday, They sacrifice their lives, … They carry the world on their shoulders everyday, Their love will make the world go round again, Let’s Pray and send them blessings everyday, Their love will make the world go round again, Let’s bow our heads for our heroes once again: Their love will make the world go round again.

Health Care Workers have done a tremendous job, some times at risk to their own lives in helping to keep the general public safe, They deserve our applaud and gratitude.
