Every now and then I glance at the list of items [that is, titles] in Thuppahi that have attracted “hits’, namely, viewers, each day. This list often surprises me. In recent months one of the items that seems to receive hits often is entitled “The Haka in Mourning…. So Powerful … So Moving” (see https://thuppahis.com/2019/03/18/the-haka-in-mourning-so-powerful-so-moving/). I remain clueless as to why this presentation attracts so much attention.

By way of further elaboration, let me refer to the three items with illustrative photographs presenting Queen Elizabeth’s visit to Ceylon in 1954 which I presented recently at the opportune moment of her funeral in UK this year. It is no surprise that all three drew some ‘hits’ in Thuppahi. But note that it was the item devoted to her visit to Trinity College — with pictures of course as in all items – that easily secured the most visits. It would seem, then, that quite a few Trinitians and/or Kandyans dip into the Thuppahi site.
For Thuppahi readers to derive some sense of this background and how WORD PRESS presents the “hits” which embrace the site every day, let me present a partial picture of the statistical tale for Tuesday 25th October 2022.
