SPECIAL FOREWORD: The Timeless Classics Concert raised $35,000 in net returns to the Foundation. We are planning to repeat the concert in Colombo at the time the newly elected Rotary International Director visits Sri Lanka in November 2017. The event will be organised by two Rotary Clubs in Colombo spearheaded by our own Trustee, Rotarian Indrajith Fernando. The artistes have agreed to donate their services and their talent to help us raise funding for the hospital.

Dear Members of our Project Interest Group,
These pictures were taken during a site visit on 6th April 2017. We were thrilled to see the progress and the sheer size of the super structure. The contractor CECB is confident of finishing on schedule, 15th November 2017 but I would add another six weeks for the prospect of rain, material delays and so forth.
The focus now is on raking in the money that some donors and sponsors have pledged but not yet paid. Also, we have to work in earnest for the US$1 million for equipment and machinery for which we pledged in cash or kind. Your help to achieve this would be gratefully accepted. It seems easier to get an item of medical equipment or machinery donated than to get cash. For those who might be interested I have a list of required items.
Work has commenced in negotiating with the Alfred Hospital to help us with Vocational Training & Development and Rotary is working on a Vocational Training Exchange program whereby we will send some experts from Australia to train people there in Triage and Operating Theatre procedures and we will host a small team from Sri Lanka to train here.
Sustainability is the name of the game going forward.

This is so exciting! It’s great to hear the East is finally getting some much needed infrastructure! Healthcare in that part of the world is so difficult to access, it will make such a difference to the lives of many!
