Ancient Sri Lanka meets modern Australia, decades on

…. Half a century since its time-honoured movements were first seen by Australian audiences, the traditional Sri Lankan Chitrasena Dance Company has returned.

Marion Ives reports for SBS and one hears Heshma Wignaraja, Chitrasena’s granddaughter speak briefly …while Arun Abey elaborates on the history of the Chitrasena engagement with Australia  in erudite style, albeit briefly. Note that the Chitrasena troupe first toured OZ in 1963 and then again in 1972.
