John Mearsheimer has provided the world with an insightful analysis on Israel, Netanyahu, and the US Rules Based Order.

SEE …. LISTEN … to Prof. John J. Mearsheimer: Netanyahu’s Grave Mistakes” … https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f4opzJiXAz0
Thus inspired …. THEODORE K’s THOUGHTS:  “Netanyahu has no interest in peace. His goal is genocide of the Palestinians, to make Gaza uninhabitable,  to expand Israel into Gaza and the West Bank, as the US cheer him on to the tune of the Rules Based Order – the “Rules Based International Order” Australia supports and keeps ranting on about.

Balasuriya’s Appraisal of the Forthcoming 50Over Contest –India vs Lanka

Madushka Balasuriya, in ESPNcricinfo, August 2024

Sri Lanka just can’t catch a break. While still reeling from the almost comical nature of the defeat in the final T20I, one which handed India a 3-0 series sweep – and possibly a multitude of nervous breakdowns to those watching, their preparations for the ODI leg have been hampered significantly by the injury or illness-related absence of no less than five of their fast bowlers.

This NOTE is part of Professor KM de Silva’s Account of the Process leading to the Formation of the ICES: ” The Taita Hills conference [in Kenya] was followed by a second cross-national workshop held on 7 March 1982; this time at the then Hotel Club Oceanic in Trincomalee, Sri Lanka.

“The photographs attest the considerable cross-national support for this enterprise, albeit wholly weighted towards  the West in the context of world political alignment then. …” Michael Roberts (while anticipating a Memo or essay from Professor Donald Horowitz which will provide other threads in the processes leading to the setting up the ICES).

The National Endowment for Democracy exposed as a CIA Branch

C. K. Watt

The National Endowment for Democracy has been exposed today in a cache of silly letters and emails released today.  If you want to better understand what a nefarious illegal corrupt outfit the NED is and the weird people working for them, and the extent they will go to conceal the fact that it is a CIA cutout, then it is worth spending a little time reading the emails and letters released today.
Read a collection of the NED files exclusively obtained by The Grayzone here, ……………………………………………………………………………..

SOME OTHER ASIDES:

* the Dalai Lama is a long time CIA asset. He’s on the CIA payroll.
* The NED headquarters is just a few blocks from the White House.

Bokku and Hara-Kiri sink Sri Lanka in Third ODI Match at Pallekele

Michael Roberts from the Outside without seeing Live Coverage

Studying the CricInfo ball-by-ball reportage and the eventual surveys by  BBB and Rex Clementine, it seems to me that the principal reasons why Sri Lanka lost were because of (A) Suryakumar Yadav’s sagacious  captaincy; (B) an Asitha Fernando bokku; (C) the search for sixers by our set batsmen when going for two or fours was a more sensible method; and (D) Charith Asalanka’s first-ball duck –the  second in a row. And since I am a devoted Gallilean that last factor is esepeciially galling (pun intended).

But let the scores and two reviews by Rex Clementine and  Hemant Brar respectively tell you the story …. while I also direct you to Facebook where, no doubt, Brian Thomas will be posting a caustic set of comments in his familiar style.

Suryakumar Yadav: whose capataincy & personal contributions were central pillars in Indiá’s dramatic win

A Ceylon Cricket Eleven in Late 1958 …. Its Ethnic Mix

Michael Roberts

Having come across “a drenching cricket story” from late in the year 1958  in my CRICKETIQUE website,  let me place it within THUPPAHI for reflection because the Cricketique site can be visited and read…  BUT is not readily open for comments or visited much.

The LEAD PHOTO is of considerable significance because of the ethnic mix in Sri Lankan team — inclusive of a Malay man and another with Colombo Chetty lineage roots.
