The photograph of the family Nicholas is from a Facebook post which contains also the following:

“Thanks to Sandy Austin for cleaning up this photo of my maternal great grandparents, Gerald James Theodore Nicholas, Pauline Henrietta (nee Piachaud) , their daughter Elaine Sybil Nicholas (married Annesley Edward Holsinger 1914) and son Clair Nicholas (married Bianca Portia Sansoni); they lived in Negombo and I think this photo was taken in or around early 1914 before Elaine Sybil married.”

Note from David Sansoni (Sydney, February 2026)

Michael,

This photo is as precious to us (Sansoni family) as it clearly is to the person you got it from/who posted it on Facebook.

It’s the first time we Sansonis have seen Clair Nicholas [the tall man] who married our great-aunt Bianca Portia.
