USA’s Imperialism Here-There-Everywhere Alarms the World

Observer from the Black Sea

On 3 January 2026, the U.S. launched a military operation (“Operation Southern Spear”) in Venezuela that resulted in the capture of Nicolás Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, by U.S. special forces (Delta Force). They were flown to the United States and are currently held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York.

  • Following America’s unprovoked naked aggression against Venezuela, initial casualty reports from a senior Venezuelan official indicate approximately 40 people, including both military personnel and civilians, were killed in the attacks.
  • Given how easy it was for US special forces to locate and capture Maduro, it appears very likely that the CIA bribed Maduro’s inner circle who gave US special forces the key to Maduro’s bedroom. They took him away without even allowing him to take a toothbrush.
  • Reports today from diplomatic missions indicate the situation in Caracas is calm and fully under control. The streets are unusually quiet for a weekend. Residents remain in shock from last night’s events, and their attention is fixed on the news, which continues to be alarming.
  • While Trump boasts he is now in control of Venezuela, the fact is he does not control Venezuela. TheUS does not and will never have administrative control or “sovereignty” over the territory of Venezuela.Trump is talking out of his arse.  He is not the legitimate leader of Venezuela. He is an evil, aggressive greedy stealing Imperialist thug.
  • Following the U.S. military capture of Nicolás Maduro on 3 January, President Trump has repeatedly claimed that Venezuela “stole” American oil and land. Legal and energy experts have clarified that under the principle of Permanent Sovereignty over Natural Resources (PSNR), international law recognizes that Venezuela owns its oil. U.S. government officials’ claims that the U.S. “created” the industry do not grant ownership rights. Most legal experts note that Venezuela’s oil never belonged to the U.S. government; it was a sovereign resource of Venezuela extracted by private American firms under lease agreements. While Venezuela owes compensation to these companies, international law recognizes a state’s sovereign right to its own natural resources.
  • Venezuela’s Supreme Court has appointed Vice President Delcy Rodríguez as interim president. Rodríguez appeared on state television to denounce the U.S. operation as “barbaric” and reaffirmed that Nicolás Maduro remains the only legitimate president of Venezuela.

President Rodríguez said,

“We demand the immediate release of President Nicolás Maduro and his wife Cilia Flores. President Nicolás Maduro is the only president of Venezuela. We are determined to be free. If there is one thing the Venezuelan people and this country are clear about, it is that we will never be slaves again. We will never again be a colony of any empire.”

  • In addition to the Venezuelan government, many countries including China and Russia have officially called for the immediate release of Maduro and his wife, condemning the U.S. military action as a violation of international law. Many leaders across South America rallied behind Venezuela, condemning the United States for its naked act of aggression. This includes President Lula of Brazil, President Petro of Colombia, President Sheinbaum or Mexico, and President Boric of Chile who have strongly condemned the strikes as violations of international law. Only three South American countries have praised the arrest of Maduro: Argentina’s President Javier Milei and Panama’s President José Raúl Mulino, who have cheered the news, calling it a victory for “freedom”; while Chile’s President-elect Jose Antonio Kast also praised the arrest of Maduro.
  • Protestors have taken to the streets across the globe from Berlin to New York and Havana calling on the US to stop bombing Venezuela, stop overthrowing its government, and free the kidnapped legitimate leader Maduro Who has been arrested on politically fabricated charges.
  • Venezuelans have come out onto the streets of Caracas burning American flags and effigies of Donald Trump. One young Venezuelan woman protesting today said(see photo below),

“We just had a wonderful, peaceful, and happy Christmas. Suddenly, we heard bombings… [The woman suddenly breaks down, clearly distressed by what is happening, but after some moments she regains her composure and continues] … bombings from from the American Empire! We never imagined they would dare to do so much, because here in Venezuela we are only building sovereignty, peace, and happiness with our president Nicholas Maduro, the legitimate president whom Venezuelans elected to govern.”

Another woman screams, “They think that by throwing bombs at us, they are going to stop our people. … What the US is doing to Nicholas Maduro and Cilia Flores, they can do to anyone. Their objective isn’t freedom. Anyone who thinks otherwise is a fool, truly a fool. Their objective is Venezuelan oil.”

  • Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel  declared: “This was a brutal and treacherous attack by North American forces against Venezuela, involving the unacceptable and barbaric kidnapping of our brother President Nicolás Maduro. The Imperialist desire is Venezuelan oil. It is the land and natural resources of Venezuela. … This is not your country; it is not your territory. We neither accept nor recognize the Monroe doctrine or outdated kings and emperors for Venezuela, and we are willing to give our own blood, even our own lives for it. Down with Imperialism! Cuba condemns these actions as acts of state terrorism, a criminal assault against ‘Our America,’ a violation of sovereignty, and a brutal attack on our Zone of Peace. “
  • Attached is a video extract from RT (4/1) concerning the events and protests currently unfolding in Venezuela. The film includes a report by the highly respected journalist Murad Gazdiev, detailing the results of the U.S. strikes in Caracas and identifying the specific building where U.S. special forces captured Maduro.
  • Trump has hinted that the U.S. may take drastic measures in Iran, having recently seized oil tankers and struck nuclear sites, and in the past few days has hinted that toppling the Iranian government is a key objective of the US Government. Simultaneously, he has intensified efforts to acquire Greenland. On 21 December 2025, Trump appointed Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry as his special envoy to Greenland. Landry publicly declared that his goal is ‘to make Greenland a part of the U.S.,’ a move aimed at seizing control of the island’s strategic mineral resources.
