Bradman & Wendell: 102 Runs in 18 Balls !!!

Sir Donald Bradman’s Letter to David  Schokman in Perth on 24 July 1984 reveals a startling ‘body of batsmenship’ at the local level …… Quite  extraordinary!

THIS NOTE also displays other remarkable truths…… (A) David  Schokman’s extraordinary reach  in cricketing lore and (B) Don Bradman’s extraordinary attention to detial and his practice of responding to the  heaps ofmail that  must surely have landed in his mail-box.

Sir Donald Bradman retired  from  cricket when residing in Adelaide  and eventually passed away in the city. I can vouch for his methodical response to all mail. As an office bearer in the organisation known as Adelaide Friends of Sri Lanka Cricket, I did approach invite him at one point in the  late 1990s to grace one of the functions linked to the visit of the Lankan cricket team. He replied immediately in polite refusal.
