“Archie S‘… responding to Items in THE AUSTRALIAN newspaper on the 17th Sepember 2025 entitled “Dangerous Optics for the Quad” and “India crosses the Red Line” — with the highlighting below [other than the blackened words] being impositions by The Editor, Thuppahi
The AUSTRALIAN newspaper is desperate to try and bring India under Western control. They hate the idea of neutrality. They hate countries being non-aligned. The assumption of this editorial, as with all articles published in the Australian, is that these conservatives possess a total intolerance of all other political and social systems outside of the West, and they believe that all countries can only exist and must exist in the image of the West, conform to its political systems and doctrines or be deemed a threat. The assumption here is that the West is superior to all other civilizations – the same idea that has existed for 500 years. It is this attitude that turns many leaders in the global south away from the West to organisations such as the SCO and BRICS, not to be anti-Western, but to pursue alternative pathways that offer fairer and better outcomes for their peoples, without threats of sanctions and tariffs.
PRESENTING HERE the original TIMES article ….
India has the right to make its own choices without Australian journalists trying to shame them with this nonsense.
The editorial in The Australian fails to mention that Russia and Belarus also invited the US and NATO to observe the Zapad exercises, but only the US accepted the invitation, and they joined in. They also failed to mention that NATO had just conducted military exercises preparing for an attack on Russia.
The Australian newspapers always talk about democracy which they think belongs to them. It doesn’t. The word democracy is used in the West to mean Western imperialism/neo-colonialism. Let’s look at what the word democracy means in the West, according to Netanyahu – the great beacon of Western democracy.
On 15 September 2025, the US state department published an interview with Netanyahu and Marco Rubio which is very revealing about the concept of western democracy. See https://www.state.gov/releases/2025/09/secretary-of-state-marco-rubio-and-israeli-prime-minister-benjamin-netanyahu-at-a-joint-press-availability/
In the interview, Netanyahu says,
“The principle that terrorists would not have immunity where they are, wherever they may be, was not established by me. We had a massacre a few decades ago called the Munich massacre, in which a PLO terrorist murdered our athletes at the Olympic Games. And my predecessor Golda Meir vowed that we shall track down these terrorists and get them one by one, which is what we proceeded to do in the leading European countries. And we did this one by one by one. I didn’t hear a great cry of wrongdoing to these countries – even though they weren’t harboring terrorists, they just – the terrorists were there, okay? They didn’t even harbor them, as is the case in other cases. The terrorists happened to be on that soil, and we acted, which is what democracies do, including the leading democracy, when they have the ability to target terrorists who threaten their civilians. So this is the principle we established. It’s a principle we follow. It hasn’t changed.
Netanyahu says, “This is what democracies do” — Western democracies go to other countries and kill people. These democracies don’t waste their time with silly things like international law, extradition, due process – they don’t even bother to notify the sovereign country they have “a terrorist” living there so the authorities can arrest and extradite them — no, none of that nonsense. Democracies don’t bother to notify the relevant authorities of the sovereign nation that they intend to do it, they just go ahead and do it, says Netanyahu, because “this is what democracies do.”
The “massacre” Netanyahu refers to occurred 53 years ago, not “a few decades ago”. It was a long time ago. But he is misleading. In the film Munich, produced by Steven Spielberg, which presents an accurate account of the events following the 1973 attack on Israeli athletes at the Olympics in Munich, what Israel did, as the film shows, is they simply went around other countries killing Palestinians who had nothing to do with the Munich attack. They had no evidence on any of them. They didn’t inform governments or notify them to have the so-called “terrorist” arrested and extradited (after all, Israel had no evidence); they just killed, and they kept on killing, because that is what democracies do – they kill people, especially innocent people.
Hitler did the same thing.
