Caravan Trip across desert to Western Australian Coastal Spots

Michael Roberts of Belair in Adelaide

Judy and John Smith of Belair in Adelaide are not deterred by age or wintry weather or any of the dangers that the Australian outback can generate for unlucky travellers.  They have set off on a caravan camping trip for two months or so across the Nullarbor Desert to Western Australia where they will head north to Port Hedland and beyond.

Their programme  is set out above on the map and  is spelt out in greater detail in a document below.  Clearly, careful planning has been invested in this enterprise. THAT is, of course, vital……………. And, yes, quite a few Aussies indulge in this sort of venture. But they are a tiny minority.
