Camel Rider, responding to a general inquiry raised by Thuppahi in his Email Circuit
With regard to the mystery of why Hamas attacked Israel on October 7, I think the reason goes like this. The issue of a Palestinian state has been fading for many years due US foreign policy and the Abraham Accords sought to normalize relations between Israel and Arab states. If left unchecked, that process would have seen the death of Palestine, even among Arab states. Hamas gained an extraordinary strategic victory on October 7th in the sense that the issue of a Palestinian state is back on the table, the Abraham Accords are in tatters, and the majority of the world is demanding a solution.
Israeli fire brigade teams douse the blaze in a partking lot outside a residential building following a rocket attack from the Gaza Strip in the southern Israeli city of Ashkelon.
Contrary to reports in the mainstream media, the events of October 7 are not clear as to who was killing who. It is becoming increasingly clear that Hamas didn’t do all the killing of Israelis (they did kill), but Israeli’s military also killed Israelis that day). Western media is trying to discredit that as fake, but video footage has come to light recently which gives support to the fact that Israeli was also a participant in the killing of Israelis on October 7.
When looking at what is happening in Gaza it is important to recognize that Israel are the oppressors while the Palestinians are the oppressed. Under the UN Charter, the people of Palestine have a right to resist Israeli occupation of their lands.
Ther was a compelling interview with Scott Ritter today which can be viewed at, It is worth watching. A one state solution is now the only answer and that state should be Palestine.

Some of the points Ritter made in the interview are,
1) Hamas will never surrender. The only way to defeat Hamas is to kill every Palestinian in the world which appears to be the objective of Israel.
2) Hamas is an idea that has now taken root not just in the hearts of the Palestinians but around the world. It is an idea founded on the principle of resistance against illegal occupation. Against a murderous genocidal regime. It’s the kind of resistance that led to the creation of the USA.
3) Ritter was then asked the following question: “Israel bulldozed a cemetery in eastern Gaza crushing dead people. How can Israel justify this? Will Israel be able to turn Gaza into another Auschwitz?”
The Israelis kill Palestinians. They can dig up dead bodies and desecrate [Palestinian] cemeteries. It just shows how disgusting this regime is. I used to be a supporter of Israel. I was a fan of Yitzhak Rabin. I believed in the potential of peace. But that Israel no longer exists and it will never exist again. Israel today is a despicable regime that must be annihilated, removed from the face of the earth. I am not talking about the destruction of Jewish people. I am not talking about killing Jewish people. I am talking about the [Israeli] regime: this disgusting amalgam of political Zionism that has empowered people to commit such desecrations and behave with such depravity. It has no place on this planet.
The Israelis are trying to annihilate the Palestinian people. They will never annihilate the Palestinian spirit. They will never annihilate that which lives in the heart of every Palestinian – the desire for a homeland where they can live with dignity, peace and honour. The Israelis seek to deny them this. Benjamin Netanyahu has admitted straight up what we all knew. He is admitting and has said, “I’ve been seeking to undermine the two-state solution from the very beginning because there will never be a two-state solution”. That means Israel doesn’t want a Palestine. They don’t want Palestinians.
This is a war of genocidal annihilation on the part of Israel. They will never succeed. They won’t succeed. They can’t succeed. The Palestinians will never surrender. But more important…. is the reality now that – not only that Israel must be defeated – but Israel will be defeated. Such a regime cannot be allowed to pollute the face of the earth. Israel’s days are numbered. It has sown the seeds of its own destruction. ‘You sow the wind; you reap the whirlwind’, and the whirlwind is coming to wipe Israel off the planet. I am 100 percent in favour of that. I would never had said this till this past week but what Israel has done over the course of the past week and the Israeli state as it currently exists can no longer be allowed to exist on this planet.
I am no longer a supporter of a two-state solution. I am a supporter of a one-state solution. That one state is Palestine. The Palestinian state – Jews are welcome to live in that Palestinian state in peace as equal citizens and they should never be persecuted for practicing their faith or celebrating the Holy Land. But the concept of a Jewish state called Israel is dead. It’s over. I don’t know how the world can support it and the longer that the United States continues to sustain this insanity, this depravity, the more we debase ourselves.”
