An Observer in a Black Sea town …. with highlighting imposed by The Editor, Thuppahi
The American actor Steven Seagal has just visited the victims of the Crocus City Hall terrorist attack, who are now in the National Medical and Surgical Centre named after N. I. Pirogov. Steven said: “What happened was a terrible tragedy that should not have happened. And I think that Russia will serve as an example and let the world understand that you can’t just do this to any people and go unpunished. I thank the doctors for the prompt work they are doing. I am glad to see that the patients are feeling well and are recovering. God bless them.”
Meanwhile, the Australian Embassy in Moscow lowered its flag to half-staff as a sign of respect and grief to the Crocus victims. By contrast, President Biden refused to pick up the phone and call Putin to give his condolences to the victims.
Back at the Crocus City Hall, recovering of the charred bodies goes on. The process of recovery and identification of those killed on 22 March will take many months.
Identification of the remains of those killed in the attack on March 22 at Crocus City Hall will take place around the clock at the Moscow Bureau of Forensic Medicine.
The West should be under no illusions about the seriousness of this terrorist attack for the Russian people. The consequences for those who ordered the attack will be severe.
The Perpetrators
Biographical details of those arrested are beginning to emerge. The leader of the terrorist group is Dalerjon Mirzoev who lived in a housing estate and practiced his wrestling skills at a local gym. Another person arrested is Tver resident Dilovar Islomov who was convicted in 2021 of stealing four chocolate bars from a supermarket. Three members of the Islomov were also arrested for their role in preparing the terrorist attack. Investigators say they helped the perpetrators obtain a car and transfer funds.
