Johnny De Silva
Carl was a great help to the ALOYSIAN News Mag in the early days with the collection of contributions for the then News Quarterly. He continued to help us till his health hampered his diligent work. He collected, and had bound, our NQs, latterly called the News Mag, which he ultimately presented to the Jesuit Library.
I had known Carl since 1952 when we both joined SAC. We became firm friends and in later life I invited him to be my Groomsman. It was with deep sadness that I learnt of his passing. I lost a life-long friend. Rest in peace dear Carl. Your family and I will miss you Mate. Thanks for the friendship and the memories of our times together.

A NOTE from Michael Roberts, 6 October 2024
About 20 years back Carl and I were in touch and he provided information for my early digital web efforts. I recall meeting him at an old Aloysian gathering at the beach hut restaurant in Wellawatte. Alas, we had lost contact in recent years. Aging is a killer.
Johnny has provided the requisite touch. Thanks, mate.
