Former Minister Arjuna Ranatunga who was arrested over yesterday’s shooting incident has been released on surety bail of Rs. 500,000. The case will taken up again on November 04.

Asecurity guard of former Minister Arjuna Ranatunga was arrested in connection with a shooting where three persons were injured within the premises of Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) at Dematagoda today afternoon, Pol said. The injured persons have been admitted to the National Hospital. The incident had occurred due to a tense situation which arose when former Minister Arjuna Ranatunga visited the premises.
Police Media Spokesperson SP Ruwan Gunasekara said a guard of former Minster Ranatunga had fired the gunshots. Later Police were deployed at the CPC premises to control the situation.
