Madmen’s War in the Middle East

Desert Wanderer

The war has expanded.  The US is in the war, which means Iran is striking  US sites in Arab countries, including Jordan, Kuwait, Bahrain,  UAE, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, as well as many cities across Israel. The whole region is alive to the sound of music.
The Iranian response is fierce.

This war is about regime change. The US and Israel are trying to topple the government,  remove the leaders. They have attacked the President’s residence, the spirirual leader Hosseini Khamenei’s residence, and the homes of many other leaders, in decapitation strikes,  but nas they had shifted location and didn’t bring their mobile phone with them.

The Iranians have launched retaliatory attacks on American targets in the region without delay. The Al Udeid military base in Qatar was hit by ballistic missiles. According to the Qatari Defense Ministry, only three missiles were shot down, while the rest hit their targets. The extent of the damage is significant.
Another counterintuitive aspect of the Iranian strike on US targets is that the Americans have never faced such a wide range of simultaneous attacks on their overseas bases. At least, this is what some US officials have stated in comments to The Wall Street Journal. And for the US military, repelling strikes of such quantity and scale is practically a new experience. There will be US casualties.
The facts speak for themselves: the last time such attacks on the United States occurred was during World War II , when the Japanese launched several attacks on US Bases.
This time, the stakes have been raised many times over. It seems the Americans are determined to go all the way, and the Iranians won’t give up easily. And for the Americans, under these circumstances, it’s truly a challenge. The US will not win this war.
Bahrain has also been attacked and the Emirates,  so the war is a regional war.  It is the big war the madman Netanyahu wanted.
ANSAR Allah (houthis) have joined in the war targetting US and Israeli ships.
Jerusalem has been hit.  In the days to come, Israel’s defence shield will be overwhelmed, which will allow for many more missiles to get through.
Explosions can be heard as far as Damascus.
Iran has launched hundreds of decoy drones and several waves of ballistic middle at Israel
Missiles can be seen flying over Amman.
Also
In addition to Qatar, Kuwait, and Bahrain, Iranian ballistic missiles also hit the Al Jafra Air Base in the United Arab Emirates. Damage is still unknown, but footage of the Emirati air defenses in action is gradually emerging.
The Al Jafra Air Base hosts a large US Air Force contingent, led by the 380th Expeditionary Wing, as well as infrastructure for accommodating and servicing various types of allied aircraft. The base includes runways, shelters, and maintenance areas servicing fighters, attack aircraft, reconnaissance aircraft, drones, and tankers, as well as ammunition and fuel depots. The US contingent is estimated to number approximately 5,000 personnel, including flight, technical, staff, and security personnel.
In addition to aircraft, Al Jafr houses command and communications facilities that coordinate US and allied operations in the region, including in the Persian Gulf and over Iraq and Syria. The base is used as a hub for reconnaissance, missile and air defense, and for projecting force against Iran and other potential adversaries. It hosts rotations of fifth-generation aircraft and additional units when Washington strengthens its presence in the Middle East in response to crises or rising tensions.
Overall, given the number of forces the US military amassed before the operation, it’s reasonable to assume that Al-Jafra is one of the key logistics hubs used by the Americans.
As the conflict continues, more and more media reports are emerging regarding the killing of Iranian officials and military commanders.
Western media reports the following Iranian leaders have been killed,
Ayatollah Ali Khamenei; President Masoud Pezeshkian; Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces Abdolrahim Musavi; Secretary of the Defense Council Ali Shamkhani;  Secretary of the National Security Council Ali Larijani.
Israeli media are also reporting the assassination of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
Reuters also added that Iranian Defense Minister Amir Nasirzadeh and the commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Mohammad Pakpour, were also killed in the strikes.
Such fabrications are nothing new in the Iran-Israel conflict. There were plenty of them this summer. Khamenei had already been killed or wounded, and Shamkhani had been eliminated, but the latter later turned out to be alive.
And in this case, we should wait for confirmation. Another important point: the difference from the June 2025 campaign is that the Iranians have not lost control of their armed forces this time.
The response to the strikes in the summer took a very long time. During this time, the Israelis destroyed the air defenses, and drones flew over Iran unimpeded. This time, the Iranians responded promptly.
This shows that the Islamic Republic was preparing for war, not hoping for peace talks. The system of governance remains intact, and attacks are ongoing across the region.
The Chinese are concerned about developments in the Middle East. The US and Israeli military operation against Iran is currently dominating global media headlines. Chinese media are no exception, although an official response from Beijing has only just arrived. China has expressed serious concern over the military strikes against Iran and is calling for an immediate end to hostilities. Beijing is also insisting on resuming dialogue. A different reaction from the Chinese overall was to be expected—Beijing responded similarly to the war between Iran and the US last summer.
The US is ignoring China’s request for peace.
Despite the situation in Iran and the country’s importance to the Chinese, the impact of the fighting on the Chinese economy appears limited at first glance. True, China gets approximately 13% of its oil from Iran. But, as with Venezuela , its refining is handled by semi-private refineries, which receive the oil at a significant discount.
If the Iranian regime truly collapses under external pressure and oil supplies are cut off, these companies will be forced to seek alternatives , possibly at a higher price. This will impact the refineries’ economic performance, but the impact on the situation in the country will be relatively limited.
Far broader economic consequences would arise if Iran were to decide to blockade the Strait of Hormuz—after all, roughly half of China’s oil flows through this transport artery.

Yesterday, the Omani Foreign ministry said negotiations between Iran and the US were going well, and Trump said he had not yet decided to attack Iran.
What a load of poppycock. It was another lie.
The war started 30 minutes ago. Israel attacked Tehran,  and other cities, striking the Iranian intelligence building, and possibly the Presidential palace.   Other hits are not known yet, but many Iranians have been killed in the first strike.
Western media claims the US launched the war, but that is not clear from the Iranian side.  Definitely Israel has attacked,  but to what extent the US is involved is not yet known but will be in a few hours.
Maybe the US are playing a game to see if Iran retaliates against Israel,  which they will do, and then use that as a pretext to join the war.
Expect Iranian missiles to fall on cities across Israel within the next few hours,  one target will likely be Mossad HQ, near the seaside north of Tel Aviv.
The war is likely to expand beyond Israel as many Arab countries host American military bases.
The big question is will Hezbollah join the war.  They have about 50,000 missiles,  as dangerous or more dangerous than Iran, but Iran has ballistic missiles.
This war will be more destructive than the 12 day war in June.
So get your popcorn and watch the show brought to you in vivid colours by Uncle Donald Trump, the Director of the Show, and his producer Netanyahu.

Sachs on more of the US goals to take control of the world  and that this is a world war. Israel wants control over the Middle East.  It wants Arab countries to be subservient to Israel, and the US wants to expel Russia and China from the region, destroy BRICS, destroy the BRI infrastructure. Let’s see if Russia and China will allow it.
